Steven Collicutt:
President & CEO
Everyone remembers the kid who was always taking apart the electronics and gadgets in the house, right? Steven was that kid growing up. Steven was curious, wanted to fix anything that had moving parts, and was continually looking for ways to make money for his father. We can probably figure out where his entrepreneurial spirit originated.
Steven began his successful career over 25 years ago in the compression business. He started his own business in 1986 as a service technician committed to service excellence, which eventually led to the formation of Collicutt Energy Services Ltd, which he sold in 2008.
Steven’s strong desire to provide excellent customer service to the serve the compression and power generation industries continues to be built on that same vision, leading to the subsequent establishment of Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd.
In the past, Steven has accepted numerous awards such as “Entrepreneur of the Year” for the service industry in Canada, Canada’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies (for three consecutive years), and a Canada wide award for “Leading by Example”, to name a few.
Steven sits on the Board of Directors of two publicly traded companies, as well as one privately held company.
Steven likes to keep active by snowmobiling in the mountains, hunting and participating in water sports and most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
Lorna Collicutt:
Director of Administration
Ever wonder where Lorna is some days? Most of us do! If she is not in the office, you can be assured her time is being well spent with projects or events that make her heart sing. She values the opportunity to give back to the community, which has been so supportive and encouraging to her family over the years. With her philanthropic approach, Lorna supports numerous local charities and fundraising events in Red Deer and Central Alberta, as well as abroad. .
Lorna, along with her husband Steven, moved to Red Deer in 1986 to start their first business in the compression and power generation industries. Lorna directed the administration side of the business as the company progressed and expanded to become Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. After Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. was sold in 2008, Lorna’s involvement as a member of the leadership team continued with the launch of Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd.
In her spare time, Lorna enjoys traveling, fitness, cooking, entertaining, (and did we mention traveling?), and spending quality time with her family.
Ryan Krutzfeldt:
Corporate Controller
An accountant: Someone who solves a problem you did not know you had, in a way you don’t understand.
Ryan is our Corporate Controller, who doesn’t spend much time at his desk. If you are looking for Ryan, your first guess should be the Parts Department . . . counting beans. He is usually somewhere in the office or shop area helping people with their questions, or working on finding a better way of doing things!
Ryan began his career as a CGA in public practice compiling financial statements and tax return credits. This was a great start for Ryan to gain experience in many aspects and types of business, but he soon decided it was time for a change. Ryan began working for Collicutt in 2007 just prior to the sale of Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. He followed Steven and Lorna over to their new venture, Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd and has helped them start and grow the business. His primary focus was managing the finance and accounting the US location, but has evolved into financial management on both the Canadian and US operations.
Mark Luchenski:
Operations Manager, Parts & Service
Don’t ever under estimate Mark’s quiet and soft spoken demeanor. He might be a man of few words, but he knows a thing or two about the gas compression industry. He has a wealth of knowledge, which comes from more than twenty years’ experience in the industry. Mark started his career with the successful completion of both his Heavy Equipment and Automotive Journeyman tickets, which gives him a keen understanding of the technical and mechanical facets of our business. He has extensive knowledge of compression and natural gas related equipment, including many years project managing for end users, to ensure the efficient and profitable utilization of their plant and field facilities.
Michael Warneboldt:
Director, Sales & Marketing
If you think ‘It’s Fun to Win’, then you have landed on the right person. Michael, with his upbeat and positive personality, is our power generation guru. In May 2011, he joined Collicutt as the Operations Manager to launch our power generation and refabrication division. Mike brings with him nearly 15 years of experience in the power generation and construction industries, having held past positions in sales, sales management, project management and private consulting services.
Mike has two young boys that he adores, Bradley & Aaron – you will find them fishing together, playing laser tag or taking the ferry to visit family on Vancouver Island. When time permits, Mike, likes to cook, socialize with friends and family, and be on the water any chance he gets.
Sandy Mercer:
Human Resources/Payroll Manager/Safety Manager
Sandy’s expertise may lie in the HR and Payroll fields, but her passion for education and trades is what really keeps her energized. Sandy’s 15 years experience in HR and Payroll within the Oil & Gas industry, along with her passion for people, has lead to many opportunities to speak to educators, high school and college students, and board members about the importance of lifelong learning and what employers are really looking for in the youth of today.
Not only does Sandy give back to the community by taking the time to speak with students and employers about the importance of education and trades in Alberta, she is also a board director for the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, where she provides support to the chamber in their efforts to enhance business growth and prosperity through leadership and innovation. Sandy prides herself on integrity and trust, and believes that value based leadership is the key to a successful business.
Barry Hinesley:
Vice President of Collicutt Energy Services Ltd.
As a native Californian . . . Barry keeps the company spinning with all the latest tech-savvy gadgets and pending eco-regulations.
Barry has worked in the power generation industry for over 25 years with both national and international assignments and he has a diverse working background that spans from cogeneration to standby power systems. His family has their roots in the petroleum market and likewise Barry has spent many years working with petroleum clients i.e. Exxon, Conoco, Chevron, BP, etc. Often, projects would require both power generations and gas compression / processing which provided him the opportunity to stitch together an appreciation and working knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
Barry has a keen interest in music and has produced several albums. With a family consisting of 5 children and his wife Lynn — who all enjoy music. . . the Hinesley household is never quiet.
