History

Collicutt originated in 1986 in Red Deer, AB as a single service truck.  It wasn’t long before the company took off and in 25 years Collicutt grew from a single service truck with two mechanics and an apprentice, to 850 employees with 13 branches across western Canada and the USA.  Collicutt’s primary focus was on the parts and service side of the natural gas compressors, however, in 1998 they began manufacturing gas compressors and further expanded into power generation in 2007, when they acquired three branches in California.  From 1993-1995 Collicutt was recognized in the top 100 fastest growing companies in Canada and in 2000, Collicutt went public on the TSE.

In 2008, Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. sold the Canadian division of the company and Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd. was started in the same year.  The US division of Collicutt Energy Services Ltd. was retained by the Collicutt family.  Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd. was started as a used equipment business and quickly changed paths when Steven’s two year non-compete expired.  In 2010, they entered the compression industry in full force, opening a new service branch in Grande Prairie and creating a head office in Red Deer.  In the past year, Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd decided to focus on both the compression and power generation side of the business in Alberta.  Collicutt Compression Solutions Ltd. has recently acquired many new product lines including: Scania, Kobelco, Motortech and Gemini (a product from GE Oil & Gas).  As well, in 2011 Collicutt Energy Services Ltd.  was just awarded the Kohler distributorship for Alaska and Hawaii.
